TEHRAN (IQNA) – A young Egyptian Qari is writing a book about the history of Quran recitation in his country and elsewhere in the Arab world.

Mohamed Zaki said his book, titled “Land of Recitation” will feature the life story and achievements of prominent Qaris in Egypt and other Arab countries, Akhbar El-Yom Website reported.

They include previous generations of Qaris as well as Quran reciters who rose to prominence in recent years, he stated.

The content of the book has mostly been collected from TV and radio interviews and the press, according to the writer.

Egypt is a country in North Africa with a population of around 96 million.

Muslims account for around 90 percent of the country’s total population.

Quranic activities are very common in the Muslim-majority Arab country and many of the Muslim world’s top Qaris in the past and present have been Egyptian.
